Hello!

It's a shiny brand new day! :P
Well, this is my last blog entry and for that I want to talk about a social issue that's happening in our country and in others: the environmental problem.

In general, this problem happens because the imbalance between the acts of the humans and the state of the environment. The issue is that the people, in their daily lives, do things that adversely affects the ecosystem. The worst thing here is that, most of them, don't really care about it.

In particular, one of the problems in Santiago is the lack of green areas that can supply the minimum trees that requires a person, that, according to WHO  declarations, are  9 m2 per capita. The central issue here is that there's a project that want to take down the Panul forest, and build there a condo. There's people, with power and money that wants to take away a green lung of the city and bring more people!

I think that, in part, is a perspective problem. Maybe the business men doesn't realise the problems that this is  going to give to the future generations; with this actions, they are putting in danger their environment. Right now, we can see the pollution and the breathing problems that came with it. The air here needs to get clean, and isn't going to help at all taking away more Santiago's trees

There's people of the area, helped by the ones that are involved in organizations about environment, they are concerned about the problem, so they're marching and trying to be listened by the government, so they can make a policy about it and help to a sustainable development.

This problem needs to be discussed, so all the people involved could have a overall benefit

See you later!

The good, the bad, the ugly

Hello!

Well…my spider-sense  tells me that you’re using the internet, right?

I think that internet is a very useful tool, in particular because I can communicate with my mother and so she knows how I am and if I need something…or just if we need to talk a little. Also  I use it for read comics, see drawings, play videogames and watch funny videos (most of them, about cats).

I remember that, unlike teenagers and children today, I met the internet more gradually. When it came , we had another ways to talk with friends, to play games and to interact in classes. I think that, maybe, it wasn't a big shock. We learned, step by step, how to live with it. But the kids these days, they came and the world was already changed by the internet.

I think that... the internet, as any tool when it’s in another’s hands, may  change its original purpose.  You can see things like beautiful pictures, the injustice in others countries, movie trailers…or things like pornography, violent fights, gore pictures, etc. Even, it could happen that you have contact with some pedophile, in that case the tool as a form of communication is used for depraved purposes.

The point about this, is that I'm not very sure if those kids around the web have the criteria to know what's good or bad for them.

The job of the parents is not to ban they to see this or that, is to guide them, educate them, prepare them, so they know how it is around there and with what kind of things they may found. Maybe, that way, they could really know what's the good and the bad (and maybe the uglier) things that one could find when you're navigating.

Well, that's all for today

See you later!
